In three little villages in Oaxaca,Mexico: San Antonio Arrazola,San Martin Tilcajete,and La Union Tejalapam since the 1950's there have been natives carving wood into animals,people,and scenes. In the 1980's Ameican folk enthusiasts caught the bug and the rest is as they say,history.Several generations have now derived their incomes carving figures from the copal tree.
